Since making their debut as Plastic Fantastic in 2014, John Clements and Erik Wulff-Eng have delivered some of the most inspired Balearic grooves and sun-kissed soundscapes of recent times. They’re at it again on their last must-check EP, Reflections on the Sun, which sees them pitch up on NuNorthern Soul under a lesser-known alias, Mirage.

The Oslo-based pair boasts a seemingly innate ability to create spellbinding, sunset-ready soundscapes and warm, rush-inducing club cuts. Both of these strands come together on a two-track missive that tends towards the epic, immersive and grandiose.

Joining us on our bonus session is Detroit based producer Blair French we asked him pull together a selection of music that inspired him when recording the 'Patio Pastels EP' due for release on our label, 1st May.

Blair tells us "The EP was crafted during a brutal winter while living at a farm home an hour outside the city. I'd look out into a blizzard and imagine beaches and camping trips. If the sun peaked out just a little I'd go outside and soak it up for a few minutes, then retreat back inside and continue working. The hardest part was getting friends to venture out and add their talents, but the ones that did gave the songs what they needed. The introduction to Balearic gave me that balance between ambient and dance music I was searching for. I feel I always maintained an island vibe whether as in isolated, different, or tropic, and as I drastically shifted gears, naturally inspirations altered."
