After that, they open up about the grief they had when other people say it in front of them and when other people say. Then Eliza, Tosin, and Joya come up with a word that people could say instead of using the n-word. Political tangents ensue.

They talk jobs as someone who is Black and touch on degrees and imposter syndrome. Racial discrimination and empowerment with the job become a topic and more before Eliza shows up (late). Then with the full co-hosts job associated with African American become the main topic.

Episode 5: Media and the New Little Mermaid

Honestly, they are going to talk about media so much so this is considered Part I. Joya upset after the backlash of the New Little Mermaid casting wanted to talk about the Little Mermaid and character that have changed race in media and so the girls talk about the racebending on characters, the token Black character and whether companies are lazy.

With missing our now ex-Podcast member Jamarri and Joya here but sick, the girls talk about the peril of Colorism as girls in their own personal experience or lack thereof. Joya, the light skin member, Eliza, the brown skin member, and Tosin, the dark skin member all talk about what they know and have said about the topic of Colorism with if one has contributed to the idea unconsciously or not. Also from the stories of other people and their experiences as well. Stereotypes, concerns, and what to do about this come up (as well as their non-black friend Aayush a lot).

Episode 3: Black Democrats vs. Black Republicans

As an idea to create a shorter but still impactful episode Tosin comes up with the idea of the Black Democrats vs. Black Republicans episode. Taking the topics and working with it (excluding Jamarri) the cohosts start off with the idea of blind following in politics, then to the incorporation of a TV show who had a minority character being a Republican and talking about famous Black people being Republican like Kanye West. The talk to Kanye pushing the group into the idea of the anti crowd, then to what actually makes a good political party and voting.

They start off with the history of this weeks topic: Stereotypes within the black community, they touch on the idea of positive stereotypes. Then they spiral down into the negative stereotypes in general and in the media. Listen to the stories of different stereotypes and the rants that come from it.
