NO PANTS! This week we rewatch the 2005 "classic" Fantastic Four. This pre MCU Marvel film stars Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffudd, and Michael Chiklis. Ashley is confused on why she thought this movie came out when she was in high school and Ryan struggles with pronouncing Ioan Gruffudd. (Okay we both did.) We wonder who thought it was a good idea to make Jessica Alba wear blue contacts the whole movie and question how Johnny made into NASA. Episode 46 - Drop Dead Fred (1991)

This week we rewatched the 1991 cult "classic" Drop Dead Fred. A movie that Ashley may have watched way too much as a child. We discuss how our own imaginary friends or rather, how we can't remember their names. We point out that smoking and jogging was a thing people did at the same time in the 90's. We also disagree about whether Drop Dead Fred was real, or if Lizzie (Phoebe Cates) caused all the destruction by herself. As always, we award or best and worst and decide if this film is worth the rewatch or if we have once again ruined our childhood.

Ashley recalls the horrific tale of seeing this movie in theaters. We discuss how its still weird that the wardrobe from this movie could look dated (why so many layers Jimmy?) because this movie is not that old, oh wait, it's 15 YEARS OLD? We make a lot of comparisons to last week's movie The Wedding Planner and question how Lindsey (Barrymore) had never heard of the Curse of the Bambino. We are back after surviving the plague with a brand new episode. This week we rewatch the romantic comedy classic, The Wedding Planner starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey. One of Ashley's picks for our Valentine's Day celebration because to a 14 year old Ashley, Jennifer Lopez was everything. We discuss how this movie breaks a couple of the romcom rules and whether we believe Dr. Steve when he said that he "just liked going to movies." We disagree during the award segment (not a lot, but Ryan did demand that Ashley change her award at one point.) Of course, we answer the question Does this movie hold up to our adult standards? Episode 39 - Die Hard (1988)

Episode 38 - Varsity Blues (1999)

It's a week before Christmas, so we thought we would do a football movie? We both decided that we rewatch too many Christmas "classics" every year to fairly judge them for this podcast. So this week we decided to watch a one of the best 90's teen sports films (because honestly there really isn't a lot of choices.) Ryan discusses how the Coach's behavior in this film is horrible, but slightly accurate to real coach's before in the past. We discuss the toxic relationship between the fathers and sons depicted in this film and we cringe with everything that comes with the character of Tweeter. As always we decide if this film holds up to our adult standards.

Episode 37 - Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989)

We reminisce about all the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids attractions at DisneyWorld that no longer exist. We discuss how the movies use of sets instead of all green screen was definitely a good call. We also chat about our favorite Christmas movie traditions. Also we announce our choice of movie to celebrate Ruining Our Childhood's first Christmas episode! Episode 36 - The Big Green (1995)

In celebration of Disney Plus launching, we decided to watch the 1995 classic, The Big Green. A movie that we thought was available on the new app. To our disappointment, The Big Green is one of the many titles that will not be available on Disney Plus until sometime next year. So we had to rent it, because we are stubborn and didn't want to change the movie. In this episode we discuss how depressing this movie is at times and why kids loved Pizza Hut so much. We also give our two cents on even more celebrities trying to blame superhero movies for the current state of the movie industry. As always we award or worst and best for this 90's film and decide if it holds up to our adult standards!

Episode 35 - The World Is Not Enough (1999)

This week we hit the action genre again with none other than a James Bond film. The 1999 "classic" The World Is Not Enough starring Pierce Brosnan. We discuss who we think is the best Bond and speculate on the future of the franchise. We get excited about some of the "Well Hello There" cameos in this film and not just because a Ruining Our Childhood favorite makes another appearance. We discuss how this version started a young Ashley's obsession with zombie flicks. We joke about how this movie might have just been an excuse for some home renovation and decide that Ben must have found Uncle Rege's cocaine stash somewhere in that farmhouse. As a special treat we name our favorite zombies of the film and best zombie kill of the movie. We discuss the amazing Roach who is just trying to stay optimistic in his bleak situation and talk about Fool's next door neighbors. Which happen to be just a pack of wild dogs sharing an apartment in the inner city always fighting over an animal carcass. Sounds like a new CBS sitcom if you ask us. Episode 29 - Scream 2 (1997)

In this episode we reminisce about the anxiety from trying to sneak into R-rated movies as kids. We jump into the 90's fashion world of baggy beige clothes and discuss how the opening scene is scary for different reasons as an adult. Our minds explode thinking about how these college students are now well into their 40's and yes, we know how time works, but sometimes it sucks to be reminded. In this special episode we add a new category: best and worst death scenes and decide if this horror sequel holds up to our adult standards.

We discuss the hit and miss CGI featured in this film and how Casper's back story made us never want to go sledding again. We break down all that this movie gets wrong about working retail and talk about how many "great" trailers there are from the DVD. We also discuss how no one is safe in this movie's offensive quest to be funny. Its about two boys who make deals to help each other win over two girls.. We discuss how this movie introduced the world to Aaron Paul and remember when Furbies were a thing. We discuss why Palo Alto native James Franco sounds like he is from Brooklyn and how this movie really tried to convince us that Shane West wasn't good looking. We reminisce about how regular phones were our main source of communication at one point in time. As always we award our best and worst of the movie and answer the ultimate question, does this movie hold up to our adult standards?

We reminisce about all the early 2000's references that this movie has to offer. Including Teck Holmes (Real World: Hawaii), Darius Miles, and chain wallets? Episode 24 - Now and Then (1995)

We are nearing the end of the summer, so for this episode we decided to watch Now and Then. This 1995 "classic" focuses on four girls during the summer of 1970. We reminisce about the freedom of riding our bikes pretty much everywhere while Ashley recounts the traumatizing events of playing Red Rover as a child. We question how these girls made the rest of the money for their dream treehouse (possibly grave robbing since they spend a lot of time in the cemetery?) We discuss everything from bad fashion choices of the new millennium and why answering machines are featured so heavily in this movie. We also talk about the amazing DVD trailers, like a Jude Law film we forgot existed and Coach Carter starring Ashanti? Episode 22 - The Baby-Sitters Club (1995)

This week we celebrate Ashley's birthday with the 1995 "classic" The Baby-Sitters Club. One of Ashley's childhood favorites that was based on the popular novel series of the same name. We discuss all the 90's IT girls that are in this movie (Rachel Leigh Cook, Larisa Oleynik) as well as all the amazing fashion displayed by mean girl Cokie's group. (Listen as we mispronounce Cokie's dumb name throughout the whole episode.) We also question if the girls know what umbrellas are and how love interest Luca doesn't know how aging works. As always, we talk about the worst and best actors of the movie and Ryan tries to guess if this film, that he has never seen apparently, holds up to our adult standards.

Episode 21 - Batman Forever (1995)

We are back with our regularly scheduled favorites! This week we rewatch Batman Forever. This 1995 "classic" stars tons of people but is missing a childhood favorite (and some would say the only true Batman) Michael Keaton. We discuss the casting choice of Chris O' Donnell's Robin and never actually answer what the title of the other movie Ashley had seen him in ( Ryan was right, it was The Bachelor!) We wonder about the lack of detective skills of Commissioner Gordon in investigating murder and wonder if Two-Face was doing cocaine in this movie. Ryan talks about his love for Jim Carrey and the character of the Riddler and how this movie was basically cast by his 10 year old self. As always we award the best and the worst, and decide if this superhero gem is still a favorite 24 years later.

Episode 17 - Lethal Weapon (1987)

This week we rewatch Lethal Weapon. The 1987 "classic" starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Ashley questions whether she has actually even seen this movie or if she is confusing it with the rewatching the spoof equivalent, Loaded Weapon. We discuss how the General's real name is Peter McCallister. Home Alone would make so much more sense if Kevin was the son of super villain, right? We question the purpose of the final fight between villain Joshua and Martin Riggs (Gibson). Also we spotlight a favorite character that also made a cameo in another episode, Gone in 60 Seconds. As always, we award our best and worst and decide if this action classic holds up to our adult standards.

Episode 16 - Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997)

This episode we rewatch the 1997 "classic" Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. A childhood favorite to both of us, we discuss how much we had rewatched this movie as a kid and how it was overly quoted for a good five years after it was released. (Who hasn't said 'yeah baby' at least once in their life?) We also go over the various dated references (Vanilla Ice on ice, anyone?) including how this movie was set in a Las Vegas that is almost unrecognizable twenty plus years later. As always we award our world famous awards to the best and the worst and decide if this favorite holds up to our adult standards.

Episode 15 - Jawbreaker (1999)

In this episode we tackle one of Ashley's childhood favorites, Jawbreaker. The 1999 "classic" starring Rebecca Gayheart and Rose McGowan about a group of friends that accidentally murder one of their own. We discuss how this movie, as well as many other teen movies, gave us high expectations of prom where in every film there is a grand gesture or over the top revelation of love. Of course in this movie, we get less of a love confession and more of a murder one instead. We question a lot of choices made in this film like how this town's forensic lab must have not existed when the girls were trying to stage a crime scene in their friend's bedroom. As always we award our favorite and not so favorite acting awards and decide if Jawbreaker holds up to our adult standards. We talk about the out of date fashion of the small Idaho town on which the movie is set and how we forgot how much Uncle Rico was a creep. The movie chosen was Gone in 60 Seconds a 2000 "classic" that has finally gave us the opportunity to watch a Nicolas Cage film. Listen as we discuss the plausibility of this whole movie and why the LAPD doesn't know how to properly use a helicopter. We question why some characters were given way too much screen time (Mirror Man we are looking at you) while others (Sway, Donny, pretty much everyone else) didn't. Anyways, this week we rewatched Old School. A 2003 "classic" starring Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell. Both of us were in high school when this comedy was released, so of course we loved it. Listen as we discuss and honestly fumble through this week's episode. We talk about all the amazing cameos in this movie and we even draw parallels to Todd Phillips' later hit, The Hangover. Does this male driven comedy hold up to our adult standards?

This 1998 “classic” about an 80's wedding singer trying to get over being left at the altar is one of Ryan's favorite Adam Sandler movies. Join us as we discuss the highs and lows of Sandler movies in general. We reminisce about the lack of awesome soundtracks in today's movies and discuss the ins and outs of romantic comedy troupes. As always we give out everyone’s favorite awards to two lucky characters/actors of the film. Will The Wedding Singer hold up to our adult standards?

This week we take on John Waters' Cry-Baby. A "classic" that was introduced to both of us thanks to the constant replay on the USA Network when we were kids. We discuss how a 12 year old Ashley thought the romance in this movie was realistic and how we are still confused on the exact relationship between Uncle Belvedere (Iggy Pop) and Grandma Ramona. Are they blood related? Or was it just a "this is your 'uncle' but he is really my boyfriend type situation?" Regardless, we break down this movie in all its weird glory. As always we crown our valedictorian of The Nicolas Cage Online School of Bad Acting and decide if this 90's musical holds up.

In the spirit of celebrating Marvel films, we take on Sam Raimi's version of everyone's favorite Web-Slinger. 2002's Spider-Man was a super successful film and as Ryan points out is still one of the highest grossing films of all time.
