Praise focuses your attention on God.

Thanks and praise has the power to break chains.

Praise and thanks can transform and redeem your situation.

What you will do at midnight depends a lot on what you will do now.

When we do not give thanks, our thinking becomes empty.

When we do not give thanks, our hearts become darkened.

An unthankful life usually becomes a sin filled life.

Ingratitude is a sin.

We must know what blessings we want.

We have to prepare ourselves for the blessing we want to receive.

We have to act upon God's promises and go where the blessing is.

In worship, attitude is important.

What we do outside of worship is more important than what we do inside.

If we don't live our lives as God would choose, it could mean destruction for us.

How we act within community and the world is more important to God than what we do in here.

God puts you in situations for a reason.

A believer can approach the throne of grace (God's presence) whenever we need grace and mercy to deal with life.

This beatitude shifts our attention from charity to purity; it examines our motive.

A peacemaker is someone who is prepared to pursue peace and pay the high price if necessary.

Jesus does not want His disciples under the impression that the Christian life is easy.

Mourning here are people who are broken hearted because of the sin they have committed against God.

A Meek person is someone who understands who and what they are in relation to other people.

Hungering and thirsting for righteousness means desiring more than anything the things of God.

The issue we have is remembering to thank Jesus for the blessings He bestows.

Our need to show thankfulness is in direct relationship to how we view ourselves.

To receive God's best, you must release your treasure and trust.

         DON’T JUDGE WITHOUT CLEAR AND TOTAL EVIDENCE.

         SEE UNCERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES AS OPPORTUNITIES TO HONOR GOD WITH YOUR ACTIONS.

         MAINTAIN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

         TRUST GOD EVEN WHEN THE ROAD SEEMS DARK.

Past hurt can cultivate a spirit of fear.

The true test of growth and forgiveness is how you handle the next situation.

GOD USES THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM TO BLESS THOSE WHO MAY NOT EVEN KNOW HIM

DECEIT OR DISHONESTY ALWAYS CAUSES PAIN, CONFUSION, AND/OR ANXIETY.

JEALOUSY AND ANGER UNCHECKED BECOME A CANCER WITHIN YOU.

BETRAYAL REQUIRES RELATIONSHIP.

GOD IS NEVER SILENT. HE IS ALWAYS SPEAKING.

EVERY ACTION WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES YOU MUST LIVE WITH.

SOMETIMES YOU REALLY REAP WHAT YOU SOW.

ONE OF THE GREATEST WORDS IN THE BIBLE IS MEANWHILE.

YOU CAN’T STOP GOD’S PLAN.

In the midst of dysfunction, God is still at work.

God wants to work in your life to do something great, but you might not see it today.

You can have assurance that God has a plan for your life.

When it comes to broken relationships, nobody is innocent.

In the cross we find our substitute.

Righteousness is a gift of God to His bride.

Righteousness is a natural product of the presence of God.

God's righteousness should move us to praise.

To give in to the pursuit of grace is to accept your lack of control is this world.

When grace pursues us, it provides for the needs of our life.

When grace pursues us, it protects us even when we are in the wrong place.

When grace pursues us, it gives so much more than we ever deserve.

Grace pursues us our entire life.

Through the pursuit of grace, I have a hope.

There is something within us we cannot remove.

The only way to win the war with sin is to trust in Jesus.

In John's eyes, no matter who said what first, Jesus was always the root.

We should see the people who are put into our lives rather than the task we may not want to perform.

We should be desperate for more of Jesus.

Jesus takes he who was not counted and makes him count.

If you won't accept a blessing because it doesn't come straight from the hand of Jesus, you're going to miss that blessing.

When Jesus begins to start handing you blessings, it doesn't stop multiplying.

We must abide in Jesus to be bold and unashamed.

You cannot correctly know right without a saving relationship with Jesus.

A relationship with Jesus affects our past, present, and future.

There are only two choices to whom you can belong.

The 8th mark of an authentic Christian life is a life that abides in a relationship with Jesus.

BELIEVERS MUST HAVE A SENSE OF URGENCY TO LIVE FOR JESUS

BELIEVERS SHOULD POSSESS AN AWARENESS AND CAUTION FOR THOSE WHO CLAIM FAITH BUT ARE NOT OF THE FAITH  

ADHERENCE TO THE WALK OF FAITH IS PROOF OF THAT FAITH

THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US NOT JUST TO HAVE FAITH, BUT TO DISCERN WHAT IS OF THE FAITH

WE MUST BE ON GUARD AGAINST TEACHINGS THAT CONTRADICT THE GOSPEL

THE 7TH MARK OF AN AUTHENTIC CHRISTIAN LIFE IS AN URGENCY TO LIVE FOR JESUS WHILE GUARDING AGAINST THE FALSE TEACHINGS OF THE WORLD

Fleshly lust is about physical pleasure that does not honor God.

Lust of the eyes deals with the temptation to find something visually appealing in a way that goes against God's standards.

The pride of life at its source is the temptation to put yourself first and others last.

In each area of temptation the issue is the perversion of God given desire into something ungodly.

Godly love and pursuits are eternal but worldly lusts and desires will pass away.

The 6th mark of an authentic Christian is a life whose love is focused in the proper direction, on the proper things, and in the proper way that honors God.

In Jesus, your sins are already forgiven.

Knowing Jesus is not simple head knowledge; it is a deep, ongoing spiritual relationship.

It is possible to overcome and defeat the enemy.

A life of victory is only found in relationship with Jesus.

The 5th mark of an authentic Christian walk is a victorious life in the face of a fallen world.

THE COMMANDS OF JESUS ARE NOT NEW COMMANDS.

LIVING A LIFE INFLUENCED BY THE OLD TESTAMENT LAW DOESN’T MAKE YOU A LEGALIST.

A LIFE THAT TRULY FOLLOWS JESUS WILL NATURALLY CONFORM TO THE MORAL LAW OF THE OLD TESTAMENT.

WHAT MAKES JESUS’ COMMAND NEW IS THE DEEPER UNDERSTANDING WE HAVE THROUGH RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.

THROUGH JESUS WE HAVE A NEW STANDARD (EVEN AS I LOVED YOU) AND MOTIVE (GOD SO LOVED US) TO FOLLOW THE COMMAND.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO BE A BELIEVER AND HATE YOUR BROTHER.

THE 4TH MARK OF AN AUTHENTIC CHRISTIAN LIFE IS UNCONDITIONAL, UNENDING LOVE FOR OTHERS AROUND YOU, ESPECIALLY OTHER BELIEVERS.

We can be sure of our salvation.

We are certain of our salvation by the way we live our life.

Following His commands is not a condition of knowing God; rather it is a sign of a relationship with Jesus.

The Bible says you cannot have salvation without the result of following His commands.

God's love is perfected by keeping His commands.

The third mark of an authentic Christian life is a life that looks more like Jesus every day.

You cannot be a believer without truly acknowledging your sin.

THE CHRISTIAN FAITH IS NOT AN UNINFORMED FAITH. IT IS BASED ON EYEWITNESS TESTIMONY.

JESUS IS BOTH THE WORD & ETERNAL LIFE.

ACCEPTING JESUS MEANS BECOMING A PART OF A FELLOWSHIP.

SALVATION OF OTHERS SHOULD BRING JOY TO THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY SAVED.

Evil and Spiritual Warfare are real.

Sin in us recognizes a holy God.

What scared the townspeople was change.

When you become accustomed to living with evil, you will inevitably become accustomed to living apart from God.

We are called to be agents of change in our community.

Who Jesus is talking to is important

Your opinion of yourself isn't what matters

Comparing your relationship or standing with God to someone else's does not matter

Your acts do not make you righteous

We find righteousness only in Jesus

WE CANNOT LET THE OBSTACLES OF LIFE DETER OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS

NO ONE IS ACCIDENTALLY BLESSED BY JESUS

TO BE TOUCHED BY JESUS, YOU HAVE TO GET CLOSE TO JESUS

THE LORD IS NEVER TOO BUSY TO DEAL WITH ANYBODY.

You don't have to settle for ho-hum Christianity

The thief steals anything he can to weaken your faith

Stealing requires stealth

If the devil cannot have a non-Christian, he'll settle for a dead one

In all reality, a dead Christian is probably more valuable to Satan than a lost soul

The thief comes to destroy

Don't let anybody steal your Jesus

Hope for Paul is not wishful thinking. Hope is supreme confidence in God's work and word.

B - Because Christ goes behind, beside, and before us we can be bold in our faith.

O - By being bold we can overcome the obstacles in life.

L - Jesus leads us.

D - Jesus disciples us so we can disciple others.

For Paul, boldness in the Christian walk was a given.

We have this boldness because the veil has been removed from our hearts and minds.

1)  Stop sitting around

2) Take silent time for God

3) Pray for everything you can

4) Read the Bible

5) Follow the calling from God

Always preach the whole counsel of God

Shepherd the flock God entrusts you with

Remember that the sheep are God's, not yours

Do not let material wealth derail your commitment to the gospel

Words alone do not save you

You can do all of the right things and not be saved

All of our good things aren't worth anything if we don't know Jesus

A relationship with Jesus changes everything

You must be sure of your foundation

Laying our foundation requires work

Storms will happen

If you have a foundation on the Rock you will be fine

Even the second best foundation is not good enough

When the going gets tough, the faithful praise God

There is power in the praise of God

God may not take you out of your circumstance, but he might change your situation

What you will do at midnight depends a lot on what you do now

There are no little people to Jesus

Sometimes we don't even recognize when Jesus is in our midst

We must be careful to actually listen to Jesus

Everyone's journey with Jesus will be different

WE CANNOT LET THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DISTRACTIONS OF LIFE BECOME THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

IF THE BUSY-NESS OF LIFE BECOMES MOST IMPORTANT TO US, WE CAN BECOME BITTER

WE MUST SPEND TIME SITTING AT THE FEET OF JESUS

TIME WITH JESUS IS ALWAYS THE BETTER THING

You can't be afraid to give what you can

We cannot afford to compare our gift to that of others

God gave you something to give and it's your responsibility to give it

Jesus can use even our little for great things

When we do things without Jesus, we will struggle

We must recognize the comfort and strength of Jesus in our lives

It isn't the dangers we don't know that cause us to sink, but the dangers we do know

We must trust that Jesus will be there when the fear overwhelms us

Get out of the boat

God takes note of those who serve Him

God claims those who serve Him

God will treat those who serve Him in a special way

Those who serve God will not have to fear the final day of God

If we return to God, we will recognize His faithfulness

We position ourselves away from and opposite of God when we choose not to do the things God commands us to do

God is so certain in His promise that He invites a test of His faithfulness

Tithing is a sign that you trust God to care for your needs

We must be careful not to falter in our faith when we don't understand

The work of Jesus in our lives isn't to bring blessing, but purity & cleansing

When a believer chooses earthly desire or emotion over the direction of God, we profane the very relationship we claim defines us

God takes issue with taking covenant lightly & the individual who does so

God has a burden for His people

God is God everywhere

The work started in you was not started by you

The work started in you is not finished

The work started in you will be completed

Just like any good work, God needs a permit

Broken dreams does not equal lost hope when you have God

God's timing is always perfect

God provides protection and sustenance for those who live faithfully

We have to go to Jesus for redemption

Sometimes Life Just Isn’t Going To Make Sense

When you live a life within the will of God, God will provide allies in unlikely places

When you live a life within the will of God, we can be vessels of His glory

When we are outside the will of God, we are slaves to our emotions

When we are outside the will of God, we will be our own downfall

When we are outside the will of God, nothing can bring you true peace

When the self-absorbed vessel comes face to face with the glory of the Living God, change occurs

What you do before the pit determines what you get inside the pit

TO OVERCOME TEMPTATION WE MUST BUILD OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

TO CLEANSE OUR HANDS IS TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE OF SIN

TO PURIFY YOUR HEART IS TO CONDITION YOUR THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS TO RESPOND TO GOD RATHER THAN THE WORLD

MOURNING AND SORROW OVER OUR SINFULNESS AND INABILITY TO SAVE OURSELVES SHOULD KEEP US HUMBLE BEFORE GOD

Missions doesn't mean the moon

Small doesn't mean unimportant or unsuccessful

GOD SEEKS TO PERSUADE HIS CREATION INTO A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM; HE DOESN’T FORCE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM

GOD ENTERS A RELATIONSHIP WITH US KNOWING WE WILL BE UNFAITHFUL

GOD DOESN’T LOVE US BECAUSE OF WHO WE ARE; HE LOVES US IN SPITE OF WHO WE ARE

GOD’S LOVE FOR US IS A RAW LOVE

GOD’S LOVE NEVER QUITS

BEING A CHOSEN PEOPLE MEANS GOD HAS A PLAN FOR WHO WE ARE

WE ARE CALLED TO BE PRIESTS IN THE WORLD

To fulfill our purpose we will have to have a heart like Jesus

To fulfill our purpose we must recognize the need

To fulfill our purpose we have to do the work

People aren't doing the work

We are the workers Jesus told the disciple to pray for

Jesus Established the Church

The Church is how God chooses to function most effectively in this world

The Church provides a shelter in this age

Christ loves the Church

The Bible commands it

The church must be present and future focused

You cannot move forward while looking toward the past

You cannot influence the present living in the past

You cannot see greater blessings God may have for you if you constantly want the older blessings

GOD’S WORD WAS AT THE CENTER OF THEIR LIVES

THEY HAD A WORSHIPFUL ATTITUDE

THEY LIVED LIFE TOGETHER

THEY WERE COMMITTED TO GOD AND EACH OTHER

THEY WERE CONTINUALLY PRAISING GOD

Children know how to trust

Children have love in abundance

Children are forgiving

Children are humble

Children haven't lost their sense of wonder

A child is expected to be obedient

A child must grow

The child will look like the Father

A little child would always want to know his Father is close by

Children are totally dependent on their parents

Be cautious because the days are evil

Be thoughtful to understand God's will for your life

Be thankful in everything because God loves you

EVERY PART OF THE TABERNACLE HELPED TO PAINT A PICTURE OF JESUS

BOTH THE TABERNACLE & JESUS ARE GOD IN THE MIDST

Courtyard - the Courtyard had one door to enter just as Jesus is the only way to God – only one way into the presence of God

Brazen Altar - The place where the sacrifice was offered for sin as Jesus would become the sacrifice for sin

Basin - for ceremonial cleansing - Jesus washes us by His sacrifice bringing new life and forgiveness

Holy Place - Through Jesus, common man becomes holy man set apart as a nation of priests allowed into the Holy Place

Lamp stand - Reminder of God’s Light in the darkness fully realized in Jesus

Table of Showbread - 12 loaves – 12 tribes – point to the bread of life

Altar of Incense - symbolized prayers to God that Jesus would command us to do

Holy of Holies - presence of God (dwelt here) Jesus tore the veil allowing access to those who believe

Ark of the Covenant - The presence of God - Jesus was the man who was also the presence of God

The situation we find ourselves in is of our own making

Our situation places us in mortal danger

We cannot solve our own issue - We cannot save ourselves

God provides the source of salvation

Both Jesus and Manna Came from Heaven

Both were similar to things they knew, but were also completely foreign

Both are all sufficient within themselves

They both are easily accessible

Each individual is responsible for their own need

Both point to future blessings

They were both sons of promise that came from miraculous births

They were unique sons loved by their fathers

The place of sacrifice for both is Jerusalem

They each were made to carry the wood on which they were to be sacrificed

Just as Isaac was to take the place of the lamb for sacrifice, so Jesus became the "Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world."

They each submitted voluntarily to the will of their father

In the ram we have a second picture of Jesus

God knows what you have and don't have

God knows what I need better than I do

Be thankful your needs are met

Don't be a grumbler

Take your desire to God rather than somebody else

If you cannot do those three things, be careful what you wish for

Acknowledgment of Jesus is not simply saying you know Jesus

Denying Jesus isn't simply saying you don't believe

The gospel will, by nature, be divisive

Jesus should be the most important relationship in your life

Following Jesus should be more important than you own life

Trust God to give us what we have given up

Sin begins in the heart

Relationship is much more important than worship protocol

It is better to lose that of highest importance to you than to let sin control your life

Failure to control these sins calls our saving relationship into question

We should not be shocked when our beliefs are challenged or even outlawed

Following Jesus isn't going to be easy

Our attitude in persecution should be that of Joy

The only persecution that is blessed is a product of following Jesus in a righteous life

We're not alone in our suffering 

You must learn to love yourself

You must define your neighbor

You must define love

These two commands are equal

You show your total love for God by how you love your neighbor 

Love is the lens through which everything else is viewed

Sometimes we go where God wants us through someone else's actions

To bring us where He wants us to be, God must bring us out of where we were

When God works in our lives it is often uncomfortable

Jesus uses every situation to speak truth into our lives

Don't go back!

When God is silent, we must not give up asking Him for our prayers

Sometimes others will stand against our prayer and seek to keep us from God

We must never treat those outside of God's flock worse than those inside God's flock

We need to have the correct attitude toward the blessings of God

When God works through you, often those who know you best will not believe it 

We may find discouragement rather than encouragement

We must be careful not to let our flesh obscure the Christ within us

God will only work in our lives to the extent we let him

We must strive not to stand in the way of the work God wants to do

What amazes God about you?

Believers must make a conscious choice to overcome negativity

 To overcome negativity, we must have the correct frame of mind

 To overcome negativity, believers should focus on:

     whatever things have the character of truth

     whatever things are worthy of reverence

     whatever things are righteous

     whatever things are pure

     whatever things are lovely

     whatever things are attractive

     if there be excellence or a fit object of praise

 These things we should make the subject of careful reflection

God changes your position - The way we see and handle life

God changes your power - Your responsibility (by virtue of the grace we're given we have more we're required to do)

God changes your place - We have to move from the place/point of salvation and grow from there

Sometimes it isn't our faith that reveals God's grace.

Sometimes the faith of others carries us through the valley into God's blessing.

God can use our blessings to testify to others.

When God works in our lives at this level, it's awkward.

Sometimes our part in faith is to believe in the results.

God never makes us weather a storm alone.

God gives us wisdom and direction in times of need.

God will not bring you through the storm until you stop trying to find your own way out.

Sometimes we must be broken to be blessed.

Stay in the boat!

God rescues us in differing ways according to our preparation.

Sometimes we find ourselves in storms because God put us there.

Jesus should be at the center of everything for believers.

It doesn't matter what is going on around you, it matters who you have with you.

IN THE LIFE OF AN UNBELIEVER, GOD USES STORMS TO BRING THEM TO A KNOWLEDGE OF HIM 

IN THE LIFE OF A BELIEVER SOMETIMES GOD USES A STORM TO DISCIPLINE US OR BUILD US UP

We get scared.

We have assurance.

We have forgiving grace.

Life cannot be separated from death.

With death comes the expansion of life.

We must all decide what is important to us.

Following Jesus isn't simply about following a set of rules.

Through dying to self you can help spread the kingdom.

Forgiveness is the most important thing in conflict.

We have a debt we cannot repay.

Unforgiveness keeps you from the blessings of God.

Our lives must match the relationship we proclaim.

We do not forgive because we are commanded to, we forgive because we are forgiven.

Kingdom beginnings are most times small.

The beginning size of the kingdom is not the same as it's completed size.

The Kingdom of Heaven grows with a purpose.

Treasure is sometimes hidden in unlikely places.

Treasure of the Kingdom is of equal value to you regardless of your station in life.

The Kingdom of Heaven is the most valuable thing in the world.

We're never going to figure out when Jesus will come back.

We must be about our work.

We must keep watch for the things God wants us to see.

We must stay prepared so we will not be caught off guard.

The problem with greed is it always selfishly wants more.

Everything we have is not owned; it's on loan from God.

We cannot be more concerned about our plans than we are God's plans.

You should spend less time waiting for your ship to come in and more time sailing.

The things we do are left behind, but the things God does remain.

Inheritance is given because of relationship; not activity.

Compassion isn't earned.

Our neighbor is everyone God places in our path.

The scope of our love should not end at our comfort zone.

When giving compassion to those God leads us to, we should not count the cost.

The four soils are four types of people who are exposed to and react to the Gospel Message.

The Path are those individuals who because of the damage of living life are unable to hear the Gospel Message.

The Rocky Ground are those individuals who get excited about the Gospel Message, but can never apply it to their life.

The Thorny Ground are those individuals who come to know Christ, but they care more about the world and its opinions than the Kingdom of God.

Good Soil are those individuals who are ready to accept Jesus and allow Him to transform their life.

Parables are more than a story; they teach a lesson.

Parables reveal truth to those who will listen.

Parables hide truth from those who would not accept it.

Jesus had to use parables to complete the plan of God.

Don't walk in the counsel of the ungodly.

     Walking in the counsel of the wicked is a deliberate choice to get advice from somewhere whose basis is not scripture.

Don't stand in the way of sinners.

    Standing in the way of sinners is beginning to prefer the company of the ungodly to the company of God.
