More importantly, this week our good friend Steven Goehrig joins the show. Steve’s an animator and game designer living here in Brooklyn; we discuss his trials and tribulations in bringing VR to NYU’s film department, the desire to make more digital friends in games, Steve's feelings about colors and Gris, and a bunch of other stuff. This is our longest show to date, and also the most well-attended. We plan to do more of these interview-style shows in the coming weeks, so look out for that!

It’s been a long week which means we have a shorter episode this week. But that just means we packed our content into an even more succulent package!

Jimi finally published a museum. To be specific, The Hall of Available Samples, a downloadable exhibition of free 3D models from around the Internet.

On the games side things, lots of Smash Brothers has been happening, and with Nick’s recent purchase of a Switch, we go over some of the best games on the platform including Breath of the Wild and Celest.

More to the point, Jimi and Nick talk about the Museum of the Moving Image’s exhibition on sports games, which was cool, but weird, but mostly cool. Jimi has a bit of an existential crisis about his taste in games (see above). Games discussed include Mario Party (which will literally tear you and your loved ones into raging monsters) and whats Remains of Edith Finch.

It's been a minute. Or a couple hundred thousand... In the past few months, Nick and Jimi have been busy doing a lot of nothing. And by nothing, we mean living up to the second half of this podcast's name... In all fairness, Jim's been a working guy, and Nick has been on the hunt for a job (which he has succeeded in tracking down by the scent of its musk and obtained).

The creative process is a fraught thing, this week, Jimi and Nick begin the show by discussing how they’ve been attempting to wrangle it in their post-graduate lives. Games discussed this week include a small game called Overwatch, and the various ways in which it induces an intense level of anxiety in Jimi (not that that stops him from playing it). The crazy amount of wish fulfillment and shiny, shiny cars in Forza Horizon 4, and the doldrums of becoming a god in Caves of Qud are also discussed.
