'Notion of Good Life in Islam’: By Shri Arif Mohammad Khan: He is a former Union Minister, Government of India. He started as a student activist and became president of the A.M.U. student's union. He was active in the J.P. movement and was associated with the Janata Party in 1977. Later he joined the Congress, but he resigned as Minister and left the party due to differences over passage of the Muslim Personal Law Bill. He joined the Lok Morcha founded by Shri V. P. Singh and later the Janta Dal and also served as its Union Minister. In 2004, he joined Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He is author of a book ‘Text and Context: Quran and Contemporary Challenges’ (2010). His interpretation of the holy Quran is an enabling framework for movements working with secular frameworks on the issues of pluralism, democracy and social justice. He runs Samarpan, an NGO for physically challenged people.
