Minnesota Military Radio

With tens of thousands of guard, reserve and active troops but no full-time federal military bases, Minnesota is a state that knows that its communities have a commitment to support the neighbors who serve and their families. Minnesota Military Radio is a reflection of that commitment. As a Vietnam veteran, volunteer host Tom Lyons is driven to make a difference for today’s service members, veterans and their families. By exploring everything from new nation leading initiatives at the Minneapolis VA Heath Care System to the efforts of a small town’s yellow ribbon network welcoming their troops home, Tom hopes to inspire others to step up and help in their communities. Through captivating and historic interviews with veterans of all eras, the show also strives to preserve the stories of heroism that may otherwise be forgotten.
